Wadjda is a 2012 Saudi Arabian–German film, written and directed by Haifaa al-Mansour. It was the first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia and the first feature-length film made by a female Saudi director and successfully earned a nomination for Best Foreign Film at the 2014 BAFTA Awards.
Watch as Wadjda, an enterprising Saudi girl, signs on for her school's Koran recitation competition as a way to raise the remaining funds she needs in order to buy the green bicycle that has captured her heart- despite the obstacles that stand in her path.
