Let’s continue the conversation shall we?!

Our last circle demonstrated the need among women in our comunity for reproductive health and sexual education. If you missed this meeting, then it's not too late!

Come join us on April 28th as we continue the conversation with Sameera Qureshi, Director of Sexuality Education & Training at HEART Women & Girls, a non-profit organization that empowers faith based communities to improve reproductive and sexual health literacy, and provides a safe space to obtain health information in a way that is mindful of religious and cultural upbringing and values and worldview.

HEART has been addressing the need for health literacy by offering trainings, workshops, and through the publication of articles and toolkits to serve as resources for those wanting to provide sexual health programming using culturally-sensitive approaches such as using religious textual narratives to frame an issue, or being sensitive to the fact that certain demonstrations or graphics may be deemed inappropriate for certain audiences. When women are not empowered and informed about their bodies and healthy relationships, they are not equipped to identify sexual health problems or when they are being abused, nor do they have the resources to know where to go for help.

Ladies Halaqas are a recurring Makespace event. Join the ladies to learn and discuss in a safe nonjudgmental space. Led by distinguished sisters in the area to discuss topics specifically pertaining to American Muslim women. Held every other External Event Url
