The Objectives of Shariah (Maqasid Al-Shariah)
Leeds Grand Mosque is intending to start a series of Islamic courses presented by Sheikh Dr Abdullah Al Judai the Vice President of the European Council for Fatwa and Research. The first course will be " The Objectives of the Sharia" or Maqasid Al Shariah The Fiqh of Maqasid enriches the link between the Islamic shariah and the human values such as freedom, justice and equality, It builds the Muslim capability to tackle new issues and to be proactive. The course is for everyone who is looking forward to contemporary understanding and implementation of Islam. The course will be delivered in Arabic but there will be an English summary provided in the evening of each course day and Q&A session with Shiekh Dr AL-Judai in the last day. يعتزم مسجد ليدز الكبير البدء في سلسلة دورات إسلامية يقدمها فضيلة الشيخ الدكتور عبدالله بن يوسف الجديع نائب رئيس المجلس الأوربي للإفتاء والبحوث، ورئيس اللجنة الفرعية للفتوى وأولى الدورات ستكون من يوم ٥ مايو الى ٧ مايو بمسجد ليدز الكبير وعنونها مقاصد الشريعة. يوفر الفقه المقاصدي تواصلا مباشرا بين الشريعة الاسلامية و الغايات الانسانية من عدل و كرامة و رقي للمجتمع. يوحد الجهود و يوجهها بحيث تكون مؤهلة للتفاعل مع المستجدات بل و مولدة للابتكار المؤصل على قواعد شرعية. لكن الفقه المقاصدي بحاجة إلى علماء يمتلكون الدرجة الكافية من التأصيل الشرعي فلا تميع الأحكام. الدورة موجهة إلى كل من يود الوصول إلى فهم للإسلام و تطبيق له في مجتمعاتنا. التسجيل للدورة على هذا الرابط:

As Muslims we appreciate that our health is a blessing from Allah.It is our duty to seek educating ourselves of how to look after this blessing of health which Allah entrusted us with. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK Every year around 60,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK, 1 in 8 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Men get breast cancer too, although it’s very rare. Of the 60,000 people diagnosed each year with breast cancer, about 340 are men. Most breast cancers occur in women who are over the age of 50. Most men who get breast cancer are over 60. Nowadays, survival rates after a diagnosis of breast cancer are improving. Earlier detection, increased knowledge and understanding of the biology of breast cancer and better treatments mean that more people survive breast cancer than ever At LGM will have an awareness session about breast screening for ladies Thursday 26th May - From 11am - 12pm It will be delivered by Cancer Screening Awareness Lead The session will be free of charge Free creche venue: LGM ladies area upstairs
