Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf was a former NBA player for the Denver Nuggets who decided not to stand up for the pledge/national anthem back in the 1990's. He was the face of the news for a long while until he retired at the peak of his basketball career.

Abdul-Rauf is a motivational speaker who will tell his own story about the many struggles he faced and endured throughout his life and the NBA as an American man who is black, a convert to Islam, and an activist. The talk will empower the youth and will stress the importance of using our own voices for good and against injustices and letting our actions speak for us.
