Before You Say “I Do”- A Pre-Marriage Workshop

The Quran teaches us that marriage brings tranquility. A happy, healthy marriage filled with love and mercy makes that happen. So how do you find Mr. or Mrs. Right? How do you know if they are the one with whom you can find the happiness and tranquility the Quran refers to? How do you avoid becoming another divorce statistic? This in-depth interactive workshop helps individuals thinking about marriage make informed decisions as they search for a life partner. Attendees will engage in self-awareness exercises that will enable them to recognize characteristics in potential partners that will complement their personalities, expectations, and future goals. Professionals of the Family & Youth Institute will help participants navigate through the often confusing marriage process, highlight red flags of potential partners, and understand how to assess compatibility. Finally, participants will be introduced to concepts and skills needed for future marital success. Register today: https://myicd1021.eventbrite.com/

Level-UP: Leading a Productive Life

The Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: ”Take advantage of five matters before five other matters: your youth before you become old; your health, before you fall sick; your wealth, before you become poor; your free time before you become preoccupied, and your life, before your death.” (Narrated by Ibn Abbas) Time is known to slip away so fast which makes it precious. What we do in our free time or what we don’t do affects our futures, and even afterlife. Br. Omar Usman and Mohammed Faris from ProductiveMuslim.com are presenting a day-long workshop to teach the fundamentals of productivity and how to motivate ourselves as our own personal leaders, as well as learning about the Prophet’s (PBUH) advice on productivity. Patience & Tawakkul - Evening Seminar

Trials, hardships, and struggles are an inevitable part of life. One way we deal with our struggles is to lose hope and feel sad about our situation. We ask “Why is this happening to me?” or “Why is nothing going right in my life?”. This way of thinking creates a barrier between us and Allah (SWT). The other way we can deal with our struggles is to seek the help of Allah (SWT). By doing this, our pain and struggles can be a means of bringing us back to our Lord. Speaker: Imam Suleiman Hani Bio: Imam Suleiman b. Hani is a Muslim orator and author hailing from Michigan, USA. At the age of 14, Suleiman left his family to attend a Qur'an memorization school in the US where he successfully completed a 10-month program. Soon thereafter, he began leading Taraweeh prayers at some of the largest mosques across the United States. He has since gained knowledge at the hands of local and global scholars from Jordan, Egypt, Syria, India, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Malaysia, and others, completing hundreds of classical and modern texts as well as curricula of multiple Islamic universities. More recently, Imam Suleiman has taught workshops and seminars around the world and has been featured several times on Huda TV and Peace TV, two of the largest Islamic channels in the world. Imam Suleiman gained experience as an Imam and a youth director since the age of 19, where his main focus was to help the youth resist modern-day challenges and corrupt ideologies. He earned his Ijazah in Sahih Muslim from Sheikh Zaheeruddin Mubarakpuri, who presently has one of the shortest Ijazahs in the world, as well as Ijazahs in the six books of hadeeth from five of his teachers. Imam Suleiman recently authored a book in English on the topic of memorizing the Qur'an and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies and a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Strategy. He presently works as a Fiqh instructor at the international Himmah College of Da'wah, OneLink, Salik Academy, the CEO of Hifdh Coach, and serves as an international speaker for religious, civil rights, and humanitarian organizations. He also currently serves as an Imam and lecturer in the state of Michigan. His most recent hobbies include mixed martial arts, skydiving, writing, and traveling the world.
