Shahed Amanullah
As co-founder and CTO of Affinis Labs, Shahed Amanullah Shahed helps manage the development and launch of incubated initiatives and builds the technology architecture for portfolio companies. Shahed also co-founded LaunchPosse, a DC-based startup based at Affinis Labs that helps people leverage their social networks to shape and launch ideas for entrepreneurship. Prior to starting LaunchPosse, Shahed served as Senior Advisor for Technology at the US Department of State, where he worked closely with the White House and other government agencies on social entrepreneurship, social media policy, combating online extremism, and fostering innovation. Shahed also founded Halalfire, a producer of online content for global Muslim communities. In 2001, he created Altmuslim, an online magazine with 2.5 million annual readers (acquired by Patheos in 2011). In 1998, he created Zabihah, the world's largest Halal restaurant guide, with 10 million annual users and 500,000 app downloads.

Dalia Fahmy
Dalia F. Fahmy is assistant professor of political science at LIU Brooklyn. She received her B.A. from New York University in politics and Middle Eastern studies, with a minor in peace and global policy studies. Dr. Fahmy then completed an M.A. from New York University in international relations. While pursuing her Ph.D. in political science at Rutgers University, she earned a second M.A. in comparative politics. Dr. Fahmy’s current research examines the intellectual and political development of modern Islamist movements. External Event Url
