Interfaith Harmony Halifax

As part of the UN General Assembly World Interfaith Harmony Week, we would like to welcome you to the Ummah Mosque on February 2nd, 2018 during Friday prayer staring at 12:00 pm. The program will include attending the Friday congregational prayer, answering questions, enjoying a multicultural lunch, experience with Arabic calligraphy, and free publications will be available for our visitors. Flag Raising

We would like to invite you to attend Ummah Masjid Raising Canada Flag celebration to mark Canada’s 150th Anniversary, which will be held on October 13, 2017 at 2:15 pm (right after Jum’aa prayer). Raising the Canadian flag would be a unique event not only to mark the celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday but also to mark our belonging to this beautiful country. Ummah Masjid hopes that you join the Community in celebrating this patriotic occasion. Please invite your non-Muslim friends as well. Love is Beautiful

Love is Beautiful is our next open house that will be held on Sunday February 14 and will focus on the themes of LOVE and PEACE. We often hear people with little knowledge about Islam say there is no LOVE in Islam, while the reality is that Islam is all about Love. Some people are calling Islam a religion of violence whereas its foundation from its very name is all about peace, peace with the Creator, inner peace, outer peace. This open house will cover the themes of love and peace from a 360 degrees perspective: from the love of Allah (God) to the love of people to the love of the environment. Each poster will cover a certain theme of love. The program will feature lectures, discussions, educational exhibit, some orginal works of art by a local Halifax artist, Syrian refugees testimonies and community projects. Share it with those who love love and those who you love.
