The Islamic Society of BU (ISBU) has teamed up with the Institute for the Study of Muslim Societies & Civilizations at Boston University to host a panel discussion and runway show about Muslim-American fashion!

Join us as professor Noora Lori from the Pardee School of Global Studies moderates this discussion feauturing co-founder of "Wise Systems" and producer of "Mipsterz", Layla Shaikley, international news journalist, Malika Bilal, and designer and entrepreneur, Amirah Aulaqi.

We will focus on how fashion is used as a tool for expressing one's identity, and for fusing together what the mainstream media might see as "conflicting" identities. The discussion will span the themes of identity, self expression, fashion, modesty, and public attention. The program will end with a short runway show featuring clothing from Amirah Couture, Inc., modeled by sisters from ISBU.
