We are very excited to announce that ISM Brookfield/Masjid al-Noor is beginning the process of creating a Youth Program. The goal of this program is to inspire our youth to bring forth their leadership, creativity and passion to run a weekly program for the youth, by the youth.

With that in mind and with the belief that Allah has blessed our children with good, kind and passionate hearts, our intention is to have this Youth Program be self-led under the guidance of key adult figures. We pray that this will encourage our youth to step into leadership roles and support them developing into strong, motivated, self-confident adults.

At this first meeting, we will have one critical and very specific goal:

Youth will recommend, create a list of and vote to agree to a set of standards for interaction with other youth in the group. They will lay out how group members should treat one another, what type of action is encouraged and what type is discouraged and prohibited. Additionally, they will begin the process of deciding how discussions will be managed amongst themselves.

The initial meeting for this group is for children in sixth grade and above. We have determined that this age is the cutoff for these foundational meetings. This does not mean that future programs may not be inclusive to younger children, but this session is meant for this age group to College (recent graduates are welcome).

Please be prompt as this program will begin on time. Youth, please bring your passion and your good ideas and put them to good use. External Event Url
