Day of Arafa Iftar

Come and Join us in breaking our fast on the day of Arafa. Do not break your fast alone! Iftar will be provided and anyone is welcome to bring a dish. We provide free ride for anyone who needs a ride, please email us at freeride@iscponline.net. The Prophet, upon whom be peace, said: "Fasting on the Day of Arafah absolves the sins for two years: the previous year and the coming year, and fasting on Ashura, (the tenth day of Muharram) atones for the sins of previous years."

Welcome Gathering

The Islamic Society of Central Pennsylvania invites new students, newly arrived visitors and all community members to the annual Welcome Gathering. Members can come together to meet each other and know about the Islamic center and the available Muslim services in state college. The gathering will take place on Saturday, August 26th, at 8:00 PM., in the Mosque at 709 Ridge Avenue. We will pray Maghrib together and start with the dinner. Everyone is encouraged to fast that day, so that we can break the fast together. The event program includes a presentation about the Islamic center, followed by open discussion and questions. We provide free ride for anyone who needs a ride! Just email us at freeride@iscponline.net and we will arrange it for you.

Spring Break Camp

The Islamic Society of Central Pennsylvania is organizing a two-day camping trip over spring break out to Huntington. The camp starts on Saturday, March 4th, at noon and ends on the morning of Monday, March 6th. Two large cabins are reserved: one for men and one for women. The cost of the trip will be $90 per man and $70 per woman. No fee for children. Make sure to sign up, it is a great opportunity to meet your brothers and sisters. Beds will be guaranteed if signed up by Saturday Feb.25th. If you signed up after Saturday, make sure to bring your own sleeping bag. DelGrosso's Amusement Park Picnic

This Saturday the ISCP will have their annual picnic at DelGrosso's Amusement Park. DelGrosso's is located about 25 minutes away in Tipton, PA. The park offers a student and family fun atmosphere at an affordable price. The ISCP will provide pizza for lunch, but the ticket is on you. The ticket price will be discounted because we will buy in bulk Schedule for Saturday, May 7, 2016 1:15 - pray Dhuhr at masjid 1:30 - depart from masjid 2:00 - arrive at DelGrosso's (if you do not want to pray at the masjid, meet at the park at 2:00pm)

Community meeting

We will have a short meeting Saturday, 1/9/2016, after Ishaa to choose the election committee. According to the constitution, the election committee consists of three members. The EC will nominate three brothers to be the election committee if they get the approval from the registered members. Otherwise, the members will choose some of them to form the committee. Kindly note that all brothers and sisters are welcome to attend this meeting, however, only registered members for 2016 will be able to vote.
