As Salaamu Alaikum,

Bismillah,

Please join us, as we discuss "My Hijab, My Crown", on Sunday, Feb. 5th from 11:30am to 12:30pm. This will be a talk/discussion with Sis. Tammy Elmansoury.

With so many controversies of the Muslim women/girls, in Hijab, it's no wonder, we have a World Hijab Day. It is usually celebrated on Feb 1st of every year.

World Hijab Day was created as an awareness campaign for muslims girls/women to share their stories of why they choose to wear the hijab. It also encourages non-muslims to try on a hijab for a few minutes, an hour, two hours, or a day, whatever they feel comfortable with and then share their experience on video/audio as well.

So, with this in mind, we'd like to invite:
1. All Muslims women/girls to share their stories in a quick 2-3 minutes (shorter if you wish) video or audio (whatever you feel comfortable with) to answer the following questions:
(a) Why did you decide to wear the Hijab?
(b) Did your parents or anyone else force you to wear it?
(c) What were your challenges in wearing the hijab, if any, and how did you overcome them?
(d) What are you most proud of in wearing the hijab?

For Muslims women/girls, it is understood that Hijab is more than just the head cover.

2. All Non-Muslims to give it a try...for a few minutes, a half hour, an hour, a day....whatever you feel comfortable with and then share your thoughts with us. You have the same amount of time - 2 to 3 minutes (shorter if you wish). You can do video or audio, whatever you feel comfortable with.

Our Non-Muslims friends can ask ONE question in their video/audio and we will do our best to answer it, either on this event page or at the day of the event (Feb 5th).

RULES:
Be respectful and kind.

This is an idea to bring people together, for education and awareness.
