SPEAKER BIOS:

Shaykh Yasir Qadhi is the Dean of Academic Affairs at AlMaghrib Institute. He is one of the few people who has combined a traditional Eastern Islamic seminary education with a Western academic training of the study of Islam.
Shaykh Yasir graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, after which he was accepted as a student at the Islamic University of Madinah. After completing a diploma in Arabic, he graduated with a B.A. from the College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences, and then completed a M.A. in Islamic Theology from the College of Dawah. He then returned to America, and completed a PhD in Religious Studies from Yale University.
He has authored several books, published academic articles, and appeared on numerous satellite and TV stations around the globe. His online videos are of the most popular and highly-watched Islamic videos in English.
Shaykh Yasir Qadhi is a resident Scholar of the Memphis Islamic Center. He is also a professor at Rhodes College, in the Department of Religious Studies.

Imam Hamad Ahmad Chebli is the Imam of the Islamic Society of Central Jersey (ISCJ). Imam Chebli grew up in Lebanon, and attended one of the most the prestigious Islamic institutions in the world, Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. Imam Chebli received his Masters in Islamic Canonical Law from Al-Azhar University.
A commanding presence at any setting, Imam Chebli has been the face of the ISCJ since 1986, when he was appointed the Imam. Over the years, with an ever present smile and an endearing personality, Imam Chebli has become an indispensible part of interfaith dialogue throughout central New Jersey and beyond.
In recognition of his contribution to interfaith dialogue and diversity throughout New Jersey, the Governor of New Jersey appointed Imam Chebli to the Governor’s Leadership Summit on Diversity. Imam Chebli has been invited to the President's State of the Union and given the opening prayer at Congress. He has been a reciepient of many awards and recognized by Local, State and National organizations for his self-less service to the communities at large! External Event Url
