Rohingya are a stateless minority ethnic Muslim group in Myanmar (a.k.a. Burma). They were described by the United Nations in 2013 as one of the most persecuted communities in the world. In the recent weeks, there have been reports of mass rapes, beheadings, and burning of villages and bodies to cover up evidences. UN officials have described Myanmar's persecution of the Rohingya as ethnic cleansing by the Buddhist army and radical monks. The government has been complicit throughout and refuses to acknowledge the persecution. The leader of Burma, Aung San Suu Kyi, even going as far as to claim that it is all 'fake news.'

Please join us at the Myanmar embassy this Friday as we demand the Myanmar government to stop its oppression of the Rohingya Muslims.

We plan to do Friday prayer at the site of the rally. External Event Url
