Our country is in crisis. At this time, immigrants are being detained and denied admission due to Donald Trump's executive orders banning travel into this country from certain countries. Thousands of people who hoped to immigrate, seek refuge, or travel for business/studies/ family reunification in this country may no longer be able to. Undocumented immigrants are also under threat as Trump signed an order promising consequences for cities and individuals who help undocumented residents and is threatening to take away some of their legal options.

Local undocumented residents and refugees need our support more than ever in these uncertain times. #LancasterStandsUp, together with CWS - Lancaster Immigration & Refugee Program and Keystone Progress Education Fund, and Lancaster Interfaith Coalition, are calling for a candlelight vigil this Tuesday evening at 5:45pm, in which we will honor our area's proud, welcoming stance for refugees. We resist hate and still stand in strong support of the rights of undocumented persons in our community. We will hold those who are locked out of the U.S., or stuck in violent or wartorn countries or refugee camps, or living under constant fear of deportation or their families being torn apart in our thoughts and in our hearts.

We will call for our elected representatives, including Lloyd Smucker and Scott Martin, to stand up for our local values, and the rights of immigrant and refugees.

Also, a reminder: Concert for Refugees is this Sunday. Please come out and support that vitally important local effort. External Event Url
