The Palestinian Healthy Child Fellowship program (HKI) is now fully implemented and operating since July 2010 at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. This program is part of HealthyKids International (HKI) – an initiative of Sick Kids Foundation- that aims to address the shortage of paediatric health specialists worldwide.
SickKids is one of the top paediatric teaching hospitals in the world, and the largest with an integrated child health research institute. With your donation, HKI will be able to fund two Fellows from Palestine over a two-year period, who will have the opportunity to learn alongside the world’s leading paediatric specialists during this time. This initiative will advance health care for children and therefore, change the future of children in Palestine.
We work closely with Palestinian Paediatric Society to ensure that the Palestinian Healthy Child Fellowship program meets the immediate needs of the Palestinian community. Upon completing their training, they will be contractually obligated to return to Palestine and establish their own practice to advance clinical care for the children of Palestine for no less than 4 years – this contractual agreement will be between the Fellow and the Palestinian Paediatric Society.
Your commitment and support are vital to the continuity of this program. Your decision to support the Palestinian Healthy Child Fellowship will result in healthier children who will be better positioned to become fully active participants in Palestinian society, will be more likely to achieve their social aspirations, and will contribute to Palestine’s increased socio-economic prosperity. The Palestinian Healthy Child Fellowship program would like to thank you for your consideration of this request, in becoming our partner as we move to advance child health care in Palestine through education, outreach, and collaboration.
