This five day workshop focuses on understanding and implementing Islamic holistic health through an examination of Ruhani (spiritual), Jismani (Physical) and Nafsani (psychological) health. This five day workshop will be a hands-on educational opportunity to understand how all three elements impact the entire human system. Attendees will be provided with practical strategies, exercises and will also have discussions designed to help develop a personal plan for self-improvement. This workshop will be led by a prominent senior internationally renowned Islamic Scholar, Shaykh Hashim Ahmad. Wednesday Dec 14th. Maghrib (4:50pm) to Isha (8:00pm) Thursday Dec 15th. Asr (3:30pm) to Isha (8:00pm) Saturday Dec 17th. 9:30am to 4:00pm (Lunch Included) Sunday Dec. 18th 9;30am to 4:00pm (Lunch Included) Below is a brief bio of the speaker, Shaykh Hashim Ahmad A former musician from Los Angeles, Shaykh Hashim accepted Islam in 1971 and soon thereafter enrolled in Jami’ah Ummul Qura, Makkah Al Mukarramah where he completed a Degree from the Faculty of Da’wah wa Usul-ud-Deen with specialization in the sciences of Quran and Hadith. Upon graduation he was deputed by Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Baz, Chief Mufti, Saudi Arabia, as a teacher to Jamiatul Uloom Al Islamiyyah, Binnori Town, Karachi, and other premier Islamic Institutions, along with dedicating over a decade focused on providing an Islamic education for Muslim women at Madrasah Aisha and Madrasah Maryam. Shaykh Hashim also holds a Masters degree in Islamic Culture from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan.

This workshop will cover these 5 modules in depth over a 3 day period. For a more detailed look these will be some of the topics covered: 1. A critical examination of a “Meaningful Life” and its components. 2. What does “ruhani health” (spiritual health) entail, and how do we nurture & protect it. 3. Go through ruhani exercises & practical takeaways to set a personal course of spiritual maintenance and growth. 4. Gain insight in the use of the intellect to attain the goal of a “Healthy Meaningful Life” 5. Overview of the importance of physical health, and its impact on success in this life and the hereafter. 6. Hands-on training on the determinants of health: nutrition, exercise, rest, stress, toxins, trauma, emotional awareness, social relations, disease prevention, and environment. 7. Below is a brief bio about Br. Hooman. Hooman Keshavarzi is a LCPC, holds a Masters of Clinical Psychology and a Bachelors of Science – specialist psychology track/minor in Islamic Studies. He is the founder/director of Khalil Center – a community spiritual & mental wellness center. In addition to his academic training, Hooman Keshavarzi has studied Islamic theology both formally and informally. He is a student of Shaykh Muhammad Zakariya from Toronto, Canada, where he attended his hadith and spiritual discourses for a number of years.
