What? Our four week summer program focuses on the interaction and the socialization of students through different outdoor and indoor activities, interactive as well as an enjoyable educational program. This along with a safe and trustworthy environment to help our children build their Islamic identity. Our summer program’s themes will focus on Ramadan, & Eid. Our children will enjoy a program in a credible, creative, and pleasant atmosphere which will drive a positive-peer influence, as well as help them belong to their Islamic integrity. With a student-centered approach, we strive to develop a love for reading, enriching Arabic language skills, and teach Islamic character by being a positive role model. Islamic studies will be presented through different stories and activities. We will also aim to develop the love of reading and learning Qur’an through child-friendly methods. All the activities will be age appropriate. The program will consist of : 1. Islamic nursery rhymes 2. Etiquette and manners 3. Hands on activities related to Ramadan 4. Stories that relate to Ramadan & Eid 5. Outdoor fun 6. Field-trips related to lesson of the week. Each day, your child will spend learning something new about ramadan while enforcing the Arabic langtuage, putting them into practice, and understanding it’s relevance to his/her daily life. Who is the camp lead teacher: Mrs. Raghad Hamdan will be the leading teacher of the camp - "My name is Raghad Hamdan. My first teaching experience started at the Jewish Community Center and Ihsan Community Center. That's where I learned I love working with children and making a difference in their lives. This led me to get my Associate degree in early childhood education. I have a bachelors degree in English with a double minor in psychology and leadership. I am also Montessori certified. Throughout the past years I have taught children between the ages of 3 to 6 and watched them grow and move on to different grades. I want children to love going to schools and camps and not everyone can instill that in children. You have to love children and have a lot of patience with them. I am excited to rejoin Ihsan and see the lightbulb that clicks when the children learn something new and see their love of wanting to come to Ihsan." Who? Children ages 3 - 6 (Must be potty-trained) Where? Ihsan When? 0.0000Interfaith Potluck Iftar Dinner
Come join us during Ramadan to break bread and build bridges with friends and families from different faiths, celebrating diversity is our path to peace About Ramadan: During Ramadan (the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar) Muslims all over the world fast from food, drink, and other physical needs from sunrise to sunset. Because the month of Ramadan is set in a lunar calendar, it moves through the Western-style calendar. The Arabic word for fasting—sawm—literally means "to refrain" – and sawm means not only refraining from food and drink, but from improper actions, thoughts, and words. Muslims are called upon to use this month to re-evaluate their lives in light of Islamic guidance. Followers of Islam are to make peace with those who have wronged them, strengthen ties with family and friends, and do away with bad habits—essentially clean up their lives, thoughts, and feelings. Ramadan is a time to practice self-restraint, cleanse the body and soul from impurities, and re-focus one's self on the worship of God. About Iftar: Each day during the month of Ramadan, when the sun goes down, Muslims conclude their daily fast with a special meal. This “breaking of the fast” is called iftar in Arabic. To observe iftar, Muslims often visit family and friends but they also try to attend their local mosque which serves a meal (futoor) as part of its nightly program. The program at the mosque often includes recitation from the holy Qu'ran, prayers (maghrib and 'ishaa) that are recited after sun-down, and the main meal. The program may also include a lecture or lessons in the rules of Islam, and sometimes additional prayers and supplications. Bring a dish to share, anything you want, just make sure its not pork and doesn't have alcohol in it :)

Mahmoud said: " We all met through the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Preparatory program, where we played in groups, such as the Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble, Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, and CCM Prep Brass Choir. We formed this quartet as a means of getting closer and making music together, as well as to perform publicly. We haven't come up with a name for our group yet. The members are me (Mahmoud Said), Joshua Schanie, Jake Hearld, and Billie Richardson. And this is mahmoud I've been playing trombone for about 9 years. I plan on studying music in college, with the hopes of playing in a professional orchestra."
