Many Muslims, especially the youth, are ill-prepared when confronted by such brazen blitzes. This conference is an opportunity to reflect on the power of faith to carry us "through troubled waters" - proverbially, from Makkah to Medina.
Some of the leading Muslim activists in the West will shed light on this and more at a one-day conference on Saturday, February 25 in Houston. The conference, hosted by ISNA, will include talks by community leaders and prominent scholars and activists.
That same evening, ISNA will host a benefit dinner, featuring Mehdi Hasan of Al Jazeera in conversation with some of the conference speakers to discuss the topic, "Finding Your Voice" in a TV-style format.
