The Woodfarm Education Centre (WEC) presents:

2016 WECMED: The 3rd Annual Medical Application Workshop for Scottish Students

Following on from the hugely successful workshops in previous years, we are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual WECMED!

WECMED is an innovative and first of its kind programme in Scotland aimed at aspiring medical and dental students keen to find out more about the selection process for universities in Scotland. WECMED serves to inform and prepare students in years S5 and S6 throughout the entire process through a comprehensive programme including the following:
-Faculty and Student Experience sharing – is medical school for you? What can you expect?
-A career in medicine/ dentistry- first hand experience
-Personal Statement (PS) Help Centre: Tips and advice on how to write a clear and concise personal statement.
-Admission exam walkthrough: top tips for the UKCAT
-Advice on all 4 sections (VR, AR, QR, SJT), with worked examples of each and time management techniques.
-WECMED 2016 will be followed by the 3rd Annual WEC Careers Advice and Information Day from 4-5pm. This will include information stalls run by experts in a wide range of fields, who will be there to answer any queries you may have.

WECMED is a programme for Scottish students, run by Medical students, Doctors and Dentists; it aims to become a valuable academic resource for the community; we are eager to help, even before you enter medical school! So come down for top tips and awesome help from the people who’ve been through the very process themselves.

Since places are limited, and demand is expected to be high, a strict first come first served policy is in place. To reserve your FREE place (with an optional £10 donation payable at the door for your copy of the speakers materials), you are required to pre-register by texting your name and year of study to the following number: 07759099444

Here is some feedback from last year's WECMED workshop:

'I really enjoyed attending the Workshop today as it was both incredibly informative and extremely enjoyable. Both of the Medical students were able to answer any question that was thrown at them and the UKCAT tips were very helpful. Dr Ghouri's talk was also very helpful as it gave a clear insight into the life of a doctor. I would love for the workshop to happen again next year and benefit other students!' - Student Attendee

'Very good session, we should have regular sessions like this' - Student Attendee External Event Url
