Please join us at the University Cass Masjid for the first cycle of “The Quran Study: The Protection Series”. Inshallah we will recite, memorize, review and strive to understand the meaning of various Islamic scripture. This class is best suited for converts, reverts and any person(s) who have struggled with setting aside time to increase their knowledge of the Quran. During the duration of this 8 week course we will cover Surah Al-Kafirun, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, Al-Nas, Al-Khaf: 1-10 and Ayatal Kursi. Inshallah, this is a fast pace course and the first of many series to come. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “Allah makes the way to Jannah easy for him who treads the path in search of knowledge.” [Muslim 1381]. Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “He who goes forth in search of knowledge is considered as struggling in the Cause of Allah until he returns.” [At-Tirmidhi 1385]. May Allah increase us in Knowledge…..

Being Muslim Class

We live in confusing times. When it comes to learning Islam, many wonder, "Where do I start? What should I start with?" Being Muslim presents content that is both reliable - based in Islamic scholarship - and not obscured in jargon and difficult terminology. It was designed to include what every Muslim should know as well as those things that are essential to a proper understanding of the overall vision and spirit of Islam. Join us at Cass Mosque every Wednesday to cover the "Being Muslim" text with Imam Saleem Khalid, a local Imam who has been serving the Detroit community for many years. Being Muslim uses the well-known Narration of Gabriel (Hadith Jibril) as a basic framework, then covers the basics of Islamic belief, how to pray and fast, spiritual refinement, a brief examination of the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), an introduction to the Quran, and guidelines for living an Islamically ethical lifestyle. The book that the class is based on also includes a glossary of frequently used Islamic terms, an appendix of short selections from the Quran, and a list of recommended readings. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you. Indeed, God is Knowing and Acquainted." - English translation (Sahih International) As an Ummah, we are the same and yet different because of the Mercy and Wonders of Allah. He raised us among nations, tribes, and ethnic groups so that we can recognize each other and be appreciative. وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافُ أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَأَلْوَانِكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّلْعَالِمِينَ (Qur'an 30:22) "And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge." - English translation (Sahih International) We certainly are a diverse Ummah, so let's come together on this occassion and share and enjoy food from our various cultures! http://www.unesco.org/new/en/unesco/events/prizes-and-celebrations/celebrations/international-days/world-day-for-cultural-diversity-for-dialogue-and-development-2016/ http://www.un.org/en/events/culturaldiversityday/
