Essex ISOC Charity Dinner!

Asalaam alaykum! Essex ISOC Annual Charity Dinner is back! Complete with a 3-course meal, Qur'an recitation, reminders, an auction, and entertainment throughout the evening! We will be joined by special guests, Faisal Choudhry, and our ex islamic society president. TICKETS: £12 EARLY BIRD: £9 You can purchase tickets from any member of the ISoc Committee and on our stall on square 3! --- *Why are we doing this?* 15,000 Muslims fleeing into Bangladesh every day, due to the atrocities they have been facing in Myanmar, just to end up stuck at the border with no help or support. After walking for days from their villages – hiding in jungles, crossing mountains and rivers. They arrive hungry, weak and sick. Now over 500,000 Rohingya have crossed into Bangladesh in about 30 days, living in very poor conditions at the border in cramped makeshift camps. Muntada Aid has launched an emergency appeal to provide essential aid to the desperate Rohingya families fleeing the oppression and seeking hope and safety in Bangladesh. They are focusing on providing emergency food packs and tube wells as it is currently the greatest need and they also assess the situation for more long-term needs. Your donations are bringing them back hope and dignity, without these packs, they literally have nothing to eat, they will remain starving or have to beg to survive. More info about the Charity Week initiative can be found on: http://www.charityweek.com/ More info about Muntada Aid and the work they do can be found on: http://www.muntadaaid.org/
