Assalamua Alaikum everyone! Our Bi-weekly educational series are back and better than ever! We're switching it up this year and are inviting different guest speakers to discuss issues relevant to Muslim college students in an open and judgement free environment.

Our first class will be happening on-campus and will be led by UT's very own Dr. Samy Ayoub!

Samy Ayoub specializes in Islamic law, Ottoman law, and law and religion in contemporary Muslim societies. He focuses on issues concerning law, its interaction with religion, and the role of religion in contemporary legal and socio-political systems within a global comparative perspective. He has legal training in Egypt and in the United States, and in Islamic studies. He has taught in law schools, and in religion and Middle Eastern Studies departments and earned his PhD in Islamic law from the School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies and the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona. He earned a BA in Islamic jurisprudence from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, in 2006, where he received systematic instruction in Ḥanafī jurisprudence.

This will also be an introductory class in which we will be taking student feedback to tailor the class to what students would like to both see and hear. Please note that these classes will be discussion based so please come with questions!

We're very excited for this series and can't wait to see y'all! External Event Url
