Join NHIEC for the last nights of Ramadan for a daily Tahajud Prayer lead by our favorite Quran recitor Hassan Saleh starting Saturday June 25th from 2AM to 3AM Suhoor will be provided at 3AM every night at NHIEC Also for those who want to view the sunrise and to see if the sun rised without any rays, there is a group that goes on the last 10 odd nights to Edgewater NJ for stunning sunrise views.(This is not a NHIEC event, just a community gathering). Meet Iyad Burnat, Star of the Oscar Nominated Film 5 Broken Cameras

Come meet the famous Palestinian author Iyad Burnat on Friday April 1st at 8PM at NHIEC. This event is being co sponsored by NHIEC and AMP NJ Center - American Muslims for Palestine NJ Chapter Iyad Burnat, is the star of the Oscar-nominated film 5 Broken Cameras. Iyad Burnat is the brother of Emad Burnat, a Palestinian farmer whose film 5 Broken Cameras was nominated for an Academy Award in 2012. He was the first Palestinian to ever receive that honor He was the winner of the 2015 James Lawson Award for Excellence in the Practice of Nonviolence. His book is the story of the creation of the Bil’in Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements, a citizen’s group formed by the people of the farming village Bil’in in Palestine, to deal with the regular raids that began in 2004 by the Israeli Occupation Forces.
