The Muslim Unity Center in Bloomfield Hills will host a community conversation to educate, raise awareness, and increase involvement around building safe schools and communities in the wake of the Parkland shooting and in light of remembering the many victims of gun violence across the country. The event will bring together educators, parents, elected officials, and interfaith leaders to discuss lessons learned from these mass shootings, to define what safety means for communities, and to share resources.

April 20th, 2018 is the 19th anniversary of the Columbine shooting. On this day we will come together to remember the victims of mass shootings, and to stand up as a community for the safety of our students and families. At this event, interfaith leaders from across different religious communities will offer a prayer for the future.
