The Muslim Unity Center was established under the leadership of Victor (Ghalib) Begg in 1993 and the group's founding board quickly purchased a former school on Square Lake Road in Bloomfield Hills. The now renovated Center includes a spacious and light-filled prayer hall (with a mezzanine for women), a gymnasium, a large banquet facility, an industrial kitchen, new offices, and 8 classrooms.

The Muslim Unity Center in Bloomfield Hills will host a community conversation to educate, raise awareness, and increase involvement around building safe schools and communities in the wake of the Parkland shooting and in light of remembering the many victims of gun violence across the country. The event will bring together educators, parents, elected officials, and interfaith leaders to discuss lessons learned from these mass shootings, to define what safety means for communities, and to share resources. April 20th, 2018 is the 19th anniversary of the Columbine shooting. On this day we will come together to remember the victims of mass shootings, and to stand up as a community for the safety of our students and families. Parent Work Shop" How To Communicate With Your Teenagers"

Please Join the Muslim Unity Center and the FYI in the 3 hours parenting workshop, "How to communicate effectively with your teenagers". Speaker: Dr. Sameera Ahmad. Fees: $ 30.00 for members, $ 35.00 for non members . Light brunch will be provided. Dr. Sameera Ahmed holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She is the director of the F.Y.I. and fellow at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), an associate editor for the Journal of Muslim Mental Health, and has a private clinical practice. She has presented her research in sessions and workshops across U.S. and Canada in both academic and community settings and has published numerous journal articles. The FYI is a research and education non-profit that aims to support young people and their families by conducting original research and presenting community psycho-educational programs.

Homeless Emergency Assistant Program

Dear Community Members Muslim Unity Center have joined forces with South Oakland Shelter ( SOS) in their efforts to provide emergency Shelter for the homeless in Oakland County. Thanks to partnerships with over 60 Oakland County congregations, SOS successfully operates a year-round rotating emergency shelter servicing individuals and families struggling with homelessness. Each week, a different congregation takes on the responsibility of hosting SOS’s shelter guests. The congregations open their doors and provide our guests with overnight accommodations, three daily meals, transportation, and meaningful interactions with caring volunteers. During the Week of November 8 2015 MUC will provide support to Birmingham Unitarian church (Host Site). Below is the list of Lunch Supplies. All donations must be delivered to MUC no later than Saturday November 7 st. We will be hosting and serving dinner on Thursday Novemeber 12 to sign up for the dinner please contact the office. 248-857-9200 0r message the page.
