University of Central Florida's Muslim Student Association presents: Islam Awareness Month!

Learn more about Islam’s true meaning as a religion and what it means to UCF Muslims by attending Islam Awareness events in the upcoming four weeks. The aim is to allow for conversations, expression and education that will leave attendees with a sense of understanding for people of different faiths than their own.

EVENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

-Muslim Fest!
3/22/16
12pm-4pm, UCF Memory Mall
We will have several booths with a variety of fun, informative activities that will give you the chance to challenge common misconceptions, test your knowledge, and appreciate the fastest growing religion in the world. Visit 5 booths and earn yourself a plate of delicious free food! Volunteers appreciated.

-Black History in Islam
3/23/16
5:00pm, Student Union Room 218C
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the struggle and achievement of African Americans, and their creativity and contribution to human civilization, and also to reaffirm the struggle and determination to fight prejudice and racism. Today, Islam is the fastest growing religion in the United States; majority of the populations embracing Islam are African Americans. Why is that?

-Hijab Challenge

4:30pm, Health & Public Affairs Room 116
We will spend the morning out on the student union patio stage giving all girls around UCF the opportunity to wear hijab (the headscarf Muslim women wear) for a day. Later in the day, there will be a discussion on the role of women in Islam along with the importance and purpose of hijab. Those who accepted the challenge will share their experiences.
Refreshments will be served.

-Misconceptions in Islam
4/4/16
4:30pm, Health & Public Affairs Room 119
We will spend the morning giving out Happiness Dawah Bags to students around UCF campus. These bags will contain an assortment of things with the intention of brightening someone's day with smiles. Volunteers appreciated.
Later in the day, there will be a discussion on the common misconceptions in Islam. Want to learn more about Islam and seperate the misconceptions from reality? Here’s your chance!

-Petals from the Prophet

5:00pm, Student Union Room 218C
We will spend the morning giving out flowers to students around campus. These flowers will have a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad(s) attached to them with the intention of spreading a peaceful message across. Volunteers appreciated.
Later in the day, there will be a discussion about the man who struggled so hard with the mission to spread Islam. He, who united every religion until Islam came to every corner of the world. Our leader, our humble, Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him).

-Islam Around the World

12pm-4pm, Pegasus Ballroom
Islam has 1.7 billion adherents, making up over 22% of the whole world's population. Discover the diversity of all the different countries and cultures within Islam. Learn about the origination of Islam, it's influence in the country, and the presence it has today through it's inhabitants. & don't forget to taste their delicious foods!

-The Perfect Design

"Indeed, We have created the human being upon the best of forms. Then we reduced him to the lowest of the low, except those who believe and do good, for they shall have an unending reward. So what yet causes you to deny the Recompense? Is not Allah the Best of Judges?"
(Surah Tin 4-8)
In this surah, Allah addresses His creating us in “the best of forms”. Whether we look at the human being’s physical construction, or consider the human potential, or the human soul and mind, we get a profound glimpse of Allah’s wisdom. A discussion on how Allah has created humans in the most perfect design regarding the context of these verses from the Quran, will be held.
Refreshments will be served.
