Celebration Of The Arts - Special Guest Amir Sulaiman
The MVMT would like to invite you to our celebration of the arts! We're going to be showcasing a large variety of different arts, including paintings, drawings, calligraphy, woodworking, and so many more! While all this is going on we will also be serving finger foods and allowing everyone the chance to network and connect! We will also have a wide variety of performances of spoken word, nasheeds, comedy, and singing! Along with that we're going to see the internationally-known spoken word artist Amir Sulaiman performing some of his pieces! Refugee Status: A Zakat Foundation / Mecca MVMT collaboration
In this collaboration with Zakat Foundation, the MVMT will be revealing a fundraising competition between the boys and girls of the MVMT! Using whatever resources and ideas they come up with, the two teams have until Eid to fundraise as much money as they can, for a refugee cause of their own!

Reimagining Muslim Spaces: A Community Town Hall
The Mecca Center invites you to join us for Reimagining Muslim Spaces: A Community Town Hall Meeting on Friday, October 20 after Isha Prayer 8pm – 10pm. A mosque is a place to nurture spirituality, a love of Allah (swt) and His Prophet (pbuh), and fellowship among believers. The Mecca Center has undertaken a concerted effort to conduct a comprehensive survey of the community in order to better improve our activities and services. If you have not yet done so, please complete the survey by visiting www.meccacenter.org. This Town Hall meeting is intended to provide our community members with an opportunity to share their constructive ideas and hopes with members of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. In addition, we will hear from Dr. Ihsan Bagby on the Reimagining Muslim Spaces project (RMS) published by the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), a Muslim research organization. The RMS study promotes masajid and other Muslim spaces that are inclusive to all community members and responsive to their needs by reducing barriers to engagement and increasing mosque capacity.
