ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Living in the West can be a challenge for Muslims when it comes to managing one's finances. On Monday evening, visiting guest Omar Bassal will give a PowerPoint presentation that outlines a simple process of avoiding clearly prohibited activities in investing, stock trading, housing and savings. The event will begin promptly at 7.30 PM with Maghrib prayer, a 50-minute presentation followed by a Q&A discussion. Please note that the venue is Annoor Academy.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Omar Bassal, CFA is the head of asset management at MASIC-an institutional family office based in Saudi Arabia where he oversees investments covering traditional and alternative assets globally that are consistent with Shariah principles. He previously was head of asset management at NBK Capital in Kuwait and Portfolio Manager at Azzad Asset Management based in the Washington, DC area.
Omar holds an MBA with honors in finance, management and statistics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated Summa cum laude with a BS in Economics, also from the Wharton School. He holds the CFA charter and is author of the book, "Swing Trading for Dummies." External Event Url
