The Eternal Challenge - Memphis
Instructor: Fahad Tasleem Masjid Ar-Rahman 7906 Lowrance Road Memphis, TN 38125 Register now: iera.org/ecusa Imagine you’re at work, university or watching a documentary – you can’t help but feel that the Quran is being dismissed as irrational and incoherent: “The Quran is an old book full of myths”, “The Quran is inaccurate”, “The Quran contains mistakes”, “The Quran was written by a man”, “The Quran copied the Bible”, and “The Quran has no evidence for its claims”. You cannot answer these questions and you’re not happy with what you find on the internet. So what do you do? The Eternal Challenge: The Limits of Science and the Linguistic Miracle of the Qur’an is a one-day Islamic thought workshop designed to empower you with the right tools and concepts to successfully articulate the linguistic miracle of the Quran and to be able to reconcile and understand revelation in our age of science. • Is science the only way to truth? • How do we understand science and revelation? • What is a miracle? • What is the intellectual challenge of the Quran? • How do we respond to academic, orientalist and popular objections? • What makes the Quran a linguistic miracle? • What are the philosophical implications? • How do we articulate the miracle to non-Arabs? • What was the impact of the Quran? • How does the Quran reveal lost knowledge? • What is the Quran’s unique structure? • How do we reflect on the Quran? • How do we reconcile science and the Quran? In summary, The Eternal Challenge is an interactive workshop giving you the skills to articulate a positive case for the Quran in an age of science & reason. Register now: iera.org/ecusa

Dawah Workshop - New Muslim Support Group
Most Muslims know enough about their own religion to theoretically be able to share the information about it to others, but most do not know how to effectively convey that information. Most struggle to articulate their ideas and thoughts about Islam, and most do not know effective techniques to engage the people around them, such as their co-workers, friends and neighbors. This workshop, years in the making, is the result of many people's efforts, to make sure Muslims are prepared to represent their religion. This workshop will utilize slideshows, videos, handouts, pamphlets, and more, and we have divided it into two parts. PART I: Listening as a form of Da'wah, Knowing Your Audience, Islamic manners in delivering the message, Examples from the Prophets and Messengers, How to overcome objections Effective Arguments, The relationship between sales and Da'wah, A summary of other major faiths, Using Technology in Da'wah, And More! PART II: (perhaps the more integral part) The Followup. Supporting new Muslims. Training ourselves to be better teachers of Islam, and equipping ourselves with the tools necessary to help new Muslims. From creating educational and support programs, to the implementation of a brother/sister program, the goal is to create a new Muslim support team, headquartered at Masjid Ar-Rahman. Plus, since the program is longer in format, LUNCH (halal, of course) will be PROVIDED! And best of all, the program itself is FREE. Registration is required, however, to gauge how much food to order and how much material to order/print for the participants. Be a part of the Da'wah.
