CHAPTER 1: Find your muslim identity
Guest speaker - Osman Khan

No matter time or place, teenagers have historically had a tough time in the development of their personal identity. However, the Muslim American teen has an even tougher time as they have to balance their faith, cultural heritage, as well as the culture of their birthplace. This makes process even more convoluted, especially when the teachings of their faith seem to be in stark contrast with the social pressures that surround them every given day. The solution though is not easy, for it requires a deep understanding (fahm) of the Muslim American teen coupled with the right guidance (hidaya) from those who possess the ability to relate to the struggles they face. Insha Allah, ISWV's first youth session in Ramadan will deal with this exact issue by helping our teens establish the foundational principles of faith in relation to their ever evolving identity.
