In this course, we will endeavor to learn about the characteristics and the etiquettes of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.). We learn the Prophetic etiquette, his internal and external state, the way he looked, the way he walked, and the way he talked, all of which would be categorized under the Shama’il. The hope is that we learn in intimate detail who the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) was in his personal conduct and in his description so that we can emulate him to the best of our ability. The more intimate we know him (P.B.U.H.) then, God willing, we will be able to see him in our dreams and see him on the Day of Judgement and in the afterlife. The great practice of our scholars was to every year read the description of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) in order to immerse themselves in his personal description. This, God willing, is what we hope to do. We hope to continue in the Sunnah of our scholars. But more importantly to immerse ourselves in the person of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him.
