Reading the Qur'an: Sundays at 6:00 for sisters, 7:00 for brothers

Iqra’ is a class that will teach how to read properly in Arabic. It is for absolute beginners of the Arabic language, as well as those who consider themselves advanced. The course will teach all of the Arabic letters, their full names, and the vowels. It will also teach the letters’ characteristics (sifaat), and articulation points (makharij), which are areas where most reciters make mistakes. Students will have weekly opportunities to read, write and review with homework assignments. By the end of the course, students will inshaAllah leave being able to read the Qur’an. Students must come to class with a notebook, and be prepared to take notes. This class is a prerequisite to the advanced tajweed course.

Kids' Qur'an: Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:00 to 6:00

This is an afterschool program for kids ages 6-12. The program will offer Qur’an recitation with Imam Muhammad, in addition to homework help for students. Students in this class will be split into two sections based on their level, as determined by an exam. While one section recites the Qur’an, the other will be assisted by volunteers in completing their homework. Healthy snacks will also be provided.

Mastering Tajweed: Mondays. Placement test required

This course is an opportunity to review and implement rules of tajweed under Imam Muhammed Nabeel. The class experience includes preparing a selection from the Qur’an, identifying rules of tajweed verse-by-verse, and implementation of rules in out-loud recitation. Students are expected to be active participants in their learning, to bring their own mushaf, and a notebook. External Event Url
