Green Khutbah Campaign

MYO City Wide High School Khutbah will be on this topic. To those of us who have to opportunity to deliver khutbahs (Friday Sermons), or other opportunities to discuss and engage our Muslim community, please use that opportunity to discuss an issue of great importance. One that typically gets buried beneath much of the other challenges that we face, thogh no less important. The matter of caring for the natural bounties that our Creator has offered us, is a sacred trust, one that we must not ignore. April 22nd is Earth Day and the annual Green Khutbah campaign to address this sacred trust. Please join this campaign! There are many resources listed below, though I wish to offer my assistance to anyone planning such a khutbah. I would be happy to help them prepare the khutbah or simply to bounce ideas back. In fact, and I will not mention names, some Imams ought to be commended for reaching out for some insight into these issues in the past. You may email me at omar@greenkufi.ca You can find sample khutbahs and other resources at (http://khaleafa.com) as well as http://greenkufi.ca and Muslim link's page on the environment http://muslimlink.ca/
