The Islamic Foundation of Peoria was founded on April 28th, 2000. Its primary mission is to serve the religious needs of the growing Muslim community in Peoria with particular attention to the construction of a Masjid and the running of a Sunday school for the children. Masjid-As-Salaam has several spacious classrooms, a spacious dining area and a large prayer area. The Masjid is set on a large wooded lot with plenty of open space and there is ample parking. The building has excellent facilities to house our Sunday school, which now has over one hundred registered students. Salaat is performed daily at the masjid, and weekly Jummah prayers have also been established. The Foundation hosts many activities including a monthly potluck in the evening of the last Friday of each month, picnics, Halaqas, playgroups for children, etc. We encourage and welcome participation in all our activities. Our goal remains to serve the Muslim community of Peoria in every way we can.
