This is part of a campus/community scholar-led book discussion series which, through a variety of genres, we will engage with literature and each other on the persistent and pressing topics of racism, war, and genocide.

This March 13th session will feature "This Muslim American Life: Dispatches from the War on Terror" by Moustafa Bayoumi which won the 2016 Evelyn Shakir Non-Fiction Arab American Book Award. This collection of essays addresses Muslim-American life and the War on Terror from a Muslim-American perspective.

It will begin with a short lecture with Leila Tarakji, PhD candidate in the Department of English.

Then, we'll break up into smaller groups for discussions of the book. At the end of the evening, the full group will reconvene for final discussion and questions.

***Participants are encouraged to read the book ahead of time. For more information, including how to obtain the books, see: https://libguides.lib.msu.edu/muslimstudies/muslimjourneys

This is FREE and open to the public! Light refreshments will be provided.
