This is part of a campus/community scholar-led book discussion series which, through a variety of genres, we will engage with literature and each other on the persistent and pressing topics of racism, war, and genocide.

This Feb. 22nd session will feature "The Arab of the Future" by award-winning French-Syrian cartoonist Riad Sattouf. This graphic memoir is about Sattouf's childhood growing up in France, Libya, and Syria in the 1970s and 80s.

This book discussion event is part of the MSU Comics Forum. It will begin with a short lecture with Dr. Emine Evered, Associate Professor of History.

Then, we'll break up into smaller groups for discussions of the book. At the end of the evening, the full group will reconvene for final discussion and questions.

***Participants are encouraged to read the book ahead of time. For more information, including how to obtain the books, see: https://libguides.lib.msu.edu/muslimstudies/muslimjourneys

This is FREE and open to the public! Light refreshments will be provided.
