You are invited to an ISPU Panel Presentation at the Islamic Center of East Lansing - 8:00 pm to 9:15 pm, Saturday, March 26

ISPU and the Islamic Center of East Lansing will be co-hosting a panel to discuss race relations within the American Muslim community.

Panelists:
Mark Crain, DREAM of Detroit
Namira Islam, Executive Director of Muslim Anti-Racism Collaborative (Muslim-ARC)
Sarrah Buageila, ISPU Project Manager

This panel discussion will be answering the following questions:
1. How can predominantly South Asian and Arab American Mosques promote a greater understanding of race, civil rights, and create inclusive environments for other ethnicities within their congregations?
2. How can we successfully build intra-mosque relationships and collaboration?
3. What practices have the panelists seen that creates positive community cohesion?

ISPU will be releasing a five part report on meeting the needs of underserved American Muslim youth, including African-American Muslim youth. Sarrah Buageila from ISPU will be presenting the recommendations from the report, while Mark and Namira would be facilitating the discussion. External Event Url
