The Islamic Community Center of Phoenix would like to invite you to join us in welcoming Palestinian peace activist, Mr. Daoud Nassar to our center. Mr. Nassar family has been living on their 100-acre farm and orchard outside of Bethlehem in Palestine for over 100 years. The Nassar’s farm became surrounded by Israeli settlements after 1967, and the farm was declared an Israeli state-owned land in 1991, clearing the way to build more settlements and denying the ownership rights of the Nassar’s family.
Mr. Nassar will share his story of non-violent actions against the Israeli occupation, refusing to leave his land, refusing to be a victim, refusing to hate and establishing the Tent of Nations on his farm. The Tent of Nations has become an international peace center attracting hundreds of international visitors annually, joining together to plant trees, harvest olives and fruits, teach at the Women’s Education Center, lead activities in Summer Children’s Camps, and work together in pursuit of peace and justice through non-violent actions. Please join the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix on March 16th, 2018, at 8:00 PM in Welcoming Mr. Daoud Nassar.
