DR NAFISA SEKANDARI


Dr. Nafisa Sekandari is the co-founder of Mental Health 4 Muslims (http://mentalhealth4muslims.com). She is currently licensed and practicing in California and Arizona. She provides counseling on mental health issues that is both clinically supported and Islamically sound. She works with a wide variety of Muslims from different backgrounds and knows firsthand how important such a service is to our community. She is also a published author and lecturer


DR. ADEEL ZAFAR

Dr. Adeel Zafar is a board certified Adult Psychiatrist who has been an inpatient provider and clinical preceptor at St. Luke's Behavioral Health Center since 2011. He joined Strategic Mental Health in 2012 as an outpatient provider.

Dr. Zafar completed his undergraduate work at the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He completed his medical degree at St. Matthew's University School of Medicine Grand Cayman. He completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at the Delaware Psychiatric Center in 2011.

Dr. Zafar's medical philosophy is a biopsychosocial model using both traditional and alternative treatments. He strongly believes in a collaborative approach with the patient that results in an individualized treatment plan for every patient. This empowers the patient to be their own advocate and encourages family involvement as necessary. Education also plays a key role in healing.

Dr. Zafar is also conversant in Urdu/Hindi. External Event Url
