Assalaamu alaikum Brothers and Sisters,

The 10th of Muharram, or the day of 'Ashura is on Saturday, October 24th. The Prophet (saw) said, “Fasting that day of 'Ashura is of great merits. I hope that Allah will accept it as an expiation of sins committed the previous year." He (saw) also encouraged us to fast either the 9th and 10th of Muharram, or the 10th of 11th of Muharram.

May Allah give us the ability to fast in the coming days and accept it as an expiation of our sins of the previous year.

ICBCS will be hosting a potluck at the masjid after Magrib. Please bring a dish to share. Please avoid bringing 'junk food'
