Salaams everyone!

For Islam Awareness Week, join the MSA as we have a special joint "Scripture Circle" with our friends at Western Presbyterian Church, home of our beloved Miriam's Kitchen. Together we will discuss Abraham in our two faiths as we continue our discussion on Surah Ibrahim, verses 28-52.

We will meet in the upstairs choir room.

They have also informed us that there will be a special meditative yoga session held beforehand from 6-7, in the same room!

Sûrah: 14 Ibrahim {Abraham} - part
Chronological Order: 72
Assigned Verses: Ayahs 28-52

Summary:
Why will men not receive Allah's grace? Why will they choose to go astray? Abraham prayed to be saved from infidelity, himself and his posterity, and he prayed for Makkah, the city of the new revelation through Arabia. Good and Evil find their proper retribution, and Allah's Plan of Unity will prevail.

The weekly Qur'an halaqas are open personal reflections of the group, and are facilitated by Chaplain Meraj Allahrakha. Since this is personal reflection, there are no wrong answers or unwelcomed interpretations.

There will be SEVERAL copies of different translations/interpretations of the Quran, but since this will be a weekly occurrence, a personal copy might be useful. Don't have one? We should remedy that!

The goal of this halaqa is to cultivate a personal relationship with the Book of Allah, in a manner that brings it to life more than just a history or textbook. External Event Url
