Zaytuna College and the Office of Student Life presents an intimate conversation with award-winning author Dave Eggers, Port of Mokha Founder & CEO Mokhtar Alkhanshali, and Director of Student Life, Imam Dawood Yasin.
Eggers' fascinating new book "The Monk of Mokha" takes us on an odyssey with Yemeni-American Alkhanshali as he seeks to reclaim the heritage of coffee cultivation in Yemen at a time of debilitating civil war, restrictive immigration laws, and the struggles of social entrepreneurship.
Discover the beauty of Yemeni coffee through the stories of a young man as he guides us through the complexity of his Muslim American identity. A book-signing by Dave Eggers to follow after the event. Books will be available for sale at the Zaytuna College bookstore.
