Khateeb Workshop

Asalaam wa alaikum! YM Florida presents......Khateeb Workshop! Brothers only. (High school and college students preferred) This workshop is specifically created to empower students to the next level in the community and in their Iman. For many people, Friday is the only religious experience they have all week. ----Are we upholding the responsibility of the minbar? ----Are we settling for khutbahs that are below average, and don’t help us become better Muslims? Less than inspiring? Boring? Not applicable to our lives? The problem we face is two fold. Firstly, we lack qualified khateebs in general. People are often thrust into the position against their will, and sometimes have been giving khutbah for 5-10 years without ever receiving formal training. The second problem is that even the experienced khateeb sometimes is not able to connect properly with the audience. This workshop is a small effort at helping to fix that. Whether you are simply interested in giving a khutbah, or a well-seasoned veteran, we hope that you will try and attend.

YMA's 25th National Senior Muslim Youth Camp

Muslimerican: Dawah Day!

In today’s political environment, it’s difficult for American Muslims to confront their identities. Many a times, we are not considered Americans because of the way we look or act. But we feel as American as anyone else. We need to find comfort in our Muslim identities and be willing to portray that to others. Therefore, WhyIslam in collaboration with Young Muslims (YM) is organizing an event to do just that. Inshallah on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 from 11 am to 5 pm, Ust. Fahad Tasleem will be conducting a workshop on how to invite others towards Islam at Masjid Al-Wali (9 Olsen Avenue). The following day we will be putting what we learn into practice by going to Central Park in New York City on Sunday, October 29th from 11 am to 5 pm to participate in active da’wah. وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِّمَّن دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ Allah says in the Quran, “Who is better in speech than the one who calls to Allah, does righteous deeds and says that I am of the Muslims?” 41:33 Please do your best to attend this event for it is our duty in the west and invite anyone you know that would be interested. YM Northeast Retreat 2017

I want you to imagine you grew up in an environment that protected you from fitnah; this protection carried you through your entire life but then, you were forced to step out. Step 1.) You are exposed to constant exposure of the opposite sex and are tempted to free mix. Step 2.) You befriend people who, you find out, spend all their free time under the influence because they see it as the only way to unwind. You keep walking and realize that you aren’t prepared for this. Your heart and imaan is weak and diseases are poured into your heart until that candle of imaan is extinguished. Your heart is empty and dark. The heart is the most honorable part of a man’s body; it’s the part that knows Allah SWT, works for Him, seeks to draw you near him and feels the values of his bounties and favors. The other parts of the body just follow the heart’s commands like kings utilize slaves. The hearts is prepared for guidance in regards to its nature but may not accept in respect to our desires and wishes. The hearts remains in a field of struggle between good and bad and once a side is chosen, it settles. If the bad side is chosen then the only method to clean it to its original state is through the remembrance of Allah SWT. Don’t give up and let Shaytan puff at your candle as you try to reignite it. Find light in your life and be the light to others. Keep it burning and if it goes out, remember, you can always rekindle the flame. Allah SWT says in the the Quran, “Only in remembrance of Allah will your hearts find peace,” (63.9) Being in good company makes you better, so let's spend this summer reconnecting with Allah SWT by reconnecting with one another. YM Goes Green

The YM Sisters Goes Green Campaign is geared towards raising awareness about environmental issues and taking care of the earth, an amanah to us from Allah (SWT). The campaign is based off of the following hadiths: • Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If the Resurrection were established upon one of you while he has in his hand a sapling, then let him plant it.” - Al-Albani • "If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift (sadaqah) for him." - Imam Bukhari We invite everyone around the country to participate in this campaign between April 28 and May 14, 2017 and create awareness for the environment so we can work together to protect it. Considering current events, such as the dismantling of the work of Environmental Protection Agency, the rapid rise and increase of global warming, and the growth of consumption culture, it is our responsibility as Muslims to raise our voices together and raise awareness. Along with having halaqahs, it is encouraged to participate in community events such as planting flowers at the masjid, local trash cleanups, and spreading awareness on social media.

Feed Their Legacy

Friday, February 10th, 2017 is the two-year anniversary of the Chapel Hill Shooting. To commemorate Our Three Winners--Deah, Yusor, and Razan--Young Muslims NeighborNets across the country will participate in a month of service where YM members will volunteer at soup kitchens, make food to give to shelters or soup kitchens to distribute, hold canned food drives, or donate to a local food pantry.

(High school and college students preferred) This workshop is specifically created to empower students to the next level in the community and in their Iman. For many people, Friday is the only religious experience they have all week. ----Are we upholding the responsibility of the minbar? ----Are we settling for khutbahs that are below average, and don’t help us become better Muslims? Less than inspiring? Boring? Not applicable to our lives? The problem we face is two fold. Firstly, we lack qualified khateebs in general. People are often thrust into the position against their will, and sometimes have been giving khutbah for 5-10 years without ever receiving formal training. The second problem is that even the experienced khateeb sometimes is not able to connect properly with the audience. This workshop is a small effort at helping to fix that. Whether you are simply interested in giving a khutbah, or a well-seasoned veteran, we hope that you will try and attend.

Yc2k16 Intensive Session - Shattering the Shackles

An intensive session is a session that is 2 hours and 45 minutes long and is meant to be more academic in nature, for an audience that desires a higher level of learning. It is held early in the morning and is typically only attended by those that possess a true commitment to learn. The intensive session is meant to go more in-depth and address topics that would otherwise be too dense to address in a 30-40 minute subsession. Attendees will also be provided with packets of notes to give an overview of the main points of the session and also to guide their own personal notes. The topic for this year’s intensive session is Shattering the Shackles by Sheikh Kamal El Mekki. It will take place in Room 339-342. Seating is limited and will be based on first come first served. Often times, we experience emotional pain yet we don't understand why. We pursue and achieve our goals yet we still feel empty. We can’t seem to get closer to Allah SWT despite sincerely wanting to. We end up empty and feeling hollow because we attach our hearts to that other than Allah SWT. However, true contentment in life is can only be found with Allah SWT. As such, this session will discuss the following: ● What are the signs that our hearts are attached to other than Allah SWT? ● How do we address the feeling of emptiness/hollowness in our hearts? ● What should we attach our hearts to? What should we detach our hearts from? ● What are the consequences of having our hearts attached to the wrong things? ● What changes in outlook must we make in order to reconnect our hearts to Allah SWT? ● What are practical steps we can take in order to reconnect our hearts to Allah SWT?

The Prophet said: He who gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will receive the same reward as him, except that nothing will be reduced from the fasting persons reward.” [Ahmad, at-Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah, Ibn Hibbaan, Saheeh]. Abdullah ibn `Amr reported that the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said: “The fast and the Qur’an are two intercessors for the servant of Allah on the Day of Resurrection. The fast will say: ‘O Lord, I prevented him from his food and desires during the day. Let me intercede for him.’ The Qur’an will say: ‘I prevented him from sleeping at night. Let me intercede for him.’ And their intercession will be accepted.” [Ahmad] Narrated Abu Huraira(r.a): The Prophet said:”… whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari). “…whoever witnesses the Month of Ramadan should fast through it…” Q(2:185) “Ramadan is the (month) in which the Quran was sent down, as a guide to mankind and a clear guidance and judgment (so that mankind will distinguish from right and wrong)..” (Q 2:183) “Oh you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you many learn piety and rightousness” (Qur’an, al-Baqarah, 2:183) “…And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew.” (Q 2:184)

Whether you need to learn the answers to such questions or just want to polish up your knowledge, YMA invites you to join us for our Ramadan Refresher Course. Running over two days, Shaykh Mahmud Kurkcu will be covering the essential fiqh and rulings related to fasting in Ramadan that every Muslim needs to know. Registration is essential for this course. YM Youth Conference 2015

We live in a world that wages a war on our nafs (soul). We are incessantly bombarded by influences from our friends and family, communities, and society at large. It has become a challenge to restrain our desires, discipline our thoughts, and correct our actions in order to stay on the path of Allah SWT as shown through Prophet Muhammad SAW and upon the understanding of the righteous predecessors. We are all struggling with unique forms of spiritual battles with one thing in common and that is that we are a generation "lost" in "whispers”. We must fight the desires that then encompass our mind and manifest in our actions. Every victory begins with proper preparation. For the youth today, this preparation is knowledge. Young Muslims intends to provide the blueprints to this knowledge, and urges you to join us in this year’s Youth Conference. With discussions on how to inhale the good and exhale the bad of our environment, whether it comes from our internal selves or it comes from our external surroundings, we want to bring strength and courage to our youth by teaching them what it means to banish the falsehood and stand for the truth.

**EDIT** Qiyyam has been moved to October 12th! Salam everyone, It's been a while but it's back, Qiyyam Night! Due to the long nights, we will try holding the program this month from 7pm to 12am and end off early instead of staying until Fajr. The rest of the program will remain the same. The event is for Brothers only. It will be a fun social night including a small talk, games, sports, the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends! This month, our guest speaker will be Br. Hosam Helal coming down from Toronto. This will be his first time at our Qiyyam so make sure to come and see what he has in store for us! Food will be served and there is a $5 entrance fee which can be paid at the door. We are willing to set up some video games, if anybody is willing to volunteer and bring their game system(s) and games, please contact us. Join us as we launch both YMB and YMS with a special talk by Imam Abdul Latif Finch from the USA who will be speaking about 'New Beginnings' THE TEACHER Imam Muhammad Abdul Latif Finch is an American Muslim Lecturer, Teacher, and Da’ee. After converting to Islam at the age of 20, he began seeking sacred knowledge and eventually in 2002 moved his family to the San Francisco Bay Area to study and be amongst the first students of the Zaytuna Institute (now Zaytuna College) where he earned his ijazaa in Islamic Sciences including; Quranic Sciences, Hadith, Maliki and Shafi’i Jurisprudence, Usul Fiqh, Seerah, Logic, and Arabic Grammar and Morphology under the tutelage of noted scholars; Shaykh Hamza Yusef, Shaykh Salik bin Siddina, Imam Zaid Shakir, Shaykh Abdur Rahman Taahir, Qari Umar Bellahi, Shaykh Abdullah Ali, and Shaykh Yahya Rhodus. Since graduating in Zaytuna 2008, Muhammad Abdul Latif has continued his studies. Under the guidance of Imam Zaid Shakir, Muhammad Abdul Latif co-founded the Lighthouse Mosque in Oakland, California where he served as the Imam till for 3 years until he resigned in 2012 to focus on his graduate studies. In addition, he was a teacher and a program developer for Deen Intensive Foundation, Seekers Guidance and has assisted Zaytuna College 's Summer Arabic Intensive program for three years in a row. Muhammad Abdul Latif is currently residing in Berkeley, California where he is pursuing a Master's degree in Philosophy at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, a member of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. His translation works include: Maqamaat Al Deen Ath Thalaath (The Three Levels of Deen) by Shaikh Ibrahim Niasse, awaiting publication. He regularly contributes to both the Faydah Institute and Floodplains. He also regularly teaches classes in Berkeley and has given talks in Canada, England, Scotland,Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Spain and Burkina Faso.

Young Muslims Present: 15th Annual Youth Conference The Seekers: A Quest for Hope Hope, something we have almost lost, especially in terms of forgiveness from our Lord. Hope, something we need to reconquer; a torch we need to relight. As Muslims, we must remember that regardless of the amount of sins we accumulate, Allah is the most merciful. The Muslim youth need to realize that it is not too late, that they should never despair in the mercy of their Lord. It is a part of our job to keep the torch of Islam from dying out. Because we have this responsibility on our shoulders, we need to be more hopeful in terms of deen (religion) as well as duniya (worldly matters). We need to have hope in people and in Allah. We need to introduce change in society, build a social conscious, and encourage unity as Muslims. We need to be the great people we were meant to be, taking back our title, our story. Omar Zia Instructor Omar Zia is an Educator working with the Peel School Board in Ontario, Canada. He is a well-known Khatib and lecturer in Toronto. He holds a B.Sc., B.Ed. (Science/English) and a Master of Education degree. Br. Omar Zia currently works as the Curricular Head of Student Services: Guidance Counsellor, Student Success Site Coordinator and Special Education Services Program Coordinator, at TL Kennedy SS with the Peel District School Board Previously he has been a Department Head of ESL & Special Ed, Cross-Curricular Literacy Head, and an English Head. Speakers: Raymond Brock-Murray Raymond recently received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Seton Hall University. He is a licensed professional counselor, with a private practice in Hoboken, NJ. He is a partner in the newly formed group practice called Nasiha Counseling in New York City with two Muslim female therapists. He currently serves as a consulting therapist for the Rutgers University Counseling Center in Newark, NJ where he has worked for more than two years. He is also an adjunct faculty member in Montclair State University’s Psychology Department. He has been an active member of the NYU Islamic Center’s Social Services team since May 2009, volunteering his time as a psychological counseling and programming consultant. Both at NYU and in the Newark and East Orange, NJ areas Raymond is currently engaged in non-profit initiatives aimed at offering counseling services to Muslims and other minority populations, as well as internship training experience to Muslim students in counseling graduate programs. He has studied under some great scholars, receiving several formal authorizations in the sacred sciences with top honors. His commitment to the sacred sciences began early in his life when Allah blessed him with the ability, by age 14, to complete the memorization of the Holy Quran. He completed a rigorous 6-year Alim course at Darul Uloom Zakariya, South Africa where he achieved his masters in the Islamic sciences, which included but was not limited to, language, exegesis (tafseer) and jurisprudence (fiqh). He earned authorizations in Hadith under the Grand Mufti of South Africa- Shaykh Radha-ul-Haq. Shaykh Yusuf Badat is an Ontario registered minister of religion & licensed marriage officer. At the ICNA-MAS and YM Conference at University of Houston, Brother Qasim hosted several lectures and workshops. The talk will be about appreciating and respecting our parents. It will aim to eliminate the negative attitude many of us have when we shut out our parents and claim 'my parents just don't get it.' Omar Zia: Omar Zia is an Educator working with the Peel School Board. He us a well-known Khatib and lecturer in Toronto. He holds a B.Sc., B.Ed. (Science/English) and a Master of Education degree. Br. Omar Zia currently works as the Curricular Head of Student Services: Guidance Counselor, Student Success Site Coordinator and Special Education Services Program Coordinator, at TL Kennedy SS with the Peel District School Board. Shaykh Faraz Rabbani: Shaykh Faraz describes himself as a "global nomad", as he spent his childhood in Canada, England, Egypt, and Spain, before returning to Canada to complete his high school and university studies. Having come from so many places, when he began to reflect on who he was, he discovered the only clear answer was "a Muslim." And so began his journey as a student of knowledge. At university, he became active with the Muslim Students Association at a local and national level. He helped develop MSA National's MSA Starter's Guide and founded and ran The Muslim Voice, MSA University of Toronto's magazine, now in its 17th year. He also founded and ran the first online African news service (Africa-N), and worked as an editor on his college paper, The Strand. Even while completing his Bachelors in Economics and Commerce at the University of Toronto, Shaykh Faraz developed a deep interest in Islamic learning, studying with local scholars such as Shaykh Talal al-Ahdab and Shaykh Faisal Abdur-Razak. After graduating from the University of Toronto in 1997, he and his wife (Ustadha Shireen Ahmed) travelled to Damascus and then to Amman, where he studied with leading Islamic scholars, including Shaykh Adib Kallas (Allah have mercy upon him), Shaykh Hassaan al-Hindi, Shaykh Muhammad Jumuah, Shaykh Akram Abd al-Wahhab, and Shaykh Nuh Keller. In 2001, Shaykh Faraz began answering questions for his family and friends online; this grew into the Hanafi Fiqh list at Yahoo Groups. On the advice of his teachers, the SunniPath web site was created, which featured both a question/answer service and online Islamic courses. After ten years overseas, Shaykh Faraz returned to Canada in the Summer of 2007. In May 2008 he founded SeekersGuidance to deal with the urgent need to spread Islamic knowledge--both online and on the ground--in a reliable, relevant, inspiring, and accessible manner. Shaykh Faraz has been encouraged by his teachers and other leading scholars to work towards establishing a model Islamic seminary that will produce Islamic scholars of the highest caliber, through excellence in teaching, curriculum, spiritual training, and a deep spirit of service--with knowledge of both religion and contemporary social and intellectual realities. This is key to the long-term vision of SeekersGuidance (www.SeekersGuidance.org). Shaykh Faraz also serves as a partner and legal advisor with StraightWay Ethical Advisory. He is the author of Absolute Essentials of Islam: Faith, Prayer, and the Path of Salvation According to the Hanafi School (White Thread Press, 2004.) In 2009, Shaykh Faraz was named one of the 500 most influential Muslims by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center. His personal interests include reading, both in English and Arabic. He is very interested in management, economics, environmental matters, international development, technology (especially in its social, human, and spiritual impact), law, theology, and spirituality. He loves classical Islamic poetry and singing--but cautions that moderation is needed in listening to even permissible music, as the Qur'an should be given primacy in one's life over all other interests. He has been a keynote speaker at various major conventions across the globe including ICNA-MAS, ISNA and United for Change Conferences. Br. Yasin Ahmed: Currently residing in Oakville, Yasin is the visionary behind KHATEEBtrainer. Biography of Habib Kadhim al-Saqqaf Al-Habib Kadhim Ja‘far Muhammad al-Saqqaf was born in Tarim , Hadramaut in 1960. He was taught the Qur’an and other Islamic disciplines by his eminent teachers at the famous school of Qur’anic Literacy and Memorisation, Abu Murayyim, and the prestigious school of classical learning, the Ribat of Tarim. After graduating from the two aforementioned institutions, he continued his studies at the hands of some of the most qualified scholars and teachers of Tarim. He thereafter travelled in search of knowledge to the northern Yemeni city of Bayda, registering at the famous Ribat of Bayda where he was blessed to study with some of the greatest scholars of recent times such as al-Habib Muhammad b. Abd-Allah al-Haddar, al-Habib Ibrahim b. Aqil b. Yahya and al-Habib Zain b. Sumait. He then returned to Tarim were he continued his studies as well as embarking upon the continual task of da‘wah. He was appointed the principal and head teacher of the Ribat of Shihr, occupying that post for the next six years, thereafter transferring to the Ribat of Mukalla once again as principal and head teacher for a further two years. A highly-respected scholar, Habib Kadhim is considered an expert in many Islamic sciences including jurisprudence, prophetic biography, creed, principles of jurisprudence and in particular, hadith (sayings of the Prophet) and its sciences. Adopting a unique oratory approach, Habib Kadhim specialises in educating the masses regarding their responsibilities towards their Creator as well as each other. He has toured many countries over the last few years including Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, South Africa, Sweden and Denmark. In addition, he has also been a guest to the Radical Middle Way initiative in the United Kingdom. He currently teaches at the prestigious Islamic institute Dar al-Mustafa in Tarim as well as sitting on the Council for Legal Verdicts at the same establishment. He is also extremely active in all parts of Hadramaut, regularly lecturing and participating in conferences.

It has been said that in some cases grammarians have adopted their rules to agree with certain phrases and expressions used in it, and that though several attempts have been made to produce a work equal to it as far elegant writing is concerned, none has as yet succeeded. "The best among you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it." (Bukhari). About the Instructor: Ustadh Mohammad Mohammadi is a renowned Arabic instructor (with a staggering amount of knowledge in the language) and was born and raised in Iran. He accepted Sunni Islam after his long journey and struggle for the truth. He used to walk miles daily to various Masajid's to find a religious leader who could give satisfactory and rational answers to his questions regarding both philosophy and theology. He later discovered one of the greatest scholars in the Persian world. After studying Arabic and the Islamic Sciences extensively he then later left for England to study engineering on an academic scholarship. During his time in the United Kingdom he was the head of Arabic studies at the Liverpool Muslim Society also known as Al Rahma Mosque. When he came to Canada he taught Arabic and the Islamic Sciences at Understand Quran Academy, Masjid Al-Farooq and various other insitutes and Masajid's. I must admit I was a bit hesitant to send my son but then after speaking with a fellow YMA student who reassured me it is a life time experience I just knew he had to go and really it was one of the best decisions I've made for him. He has always been a good boy but since coming back, there is such a positive change, he's really matured and is forever telling us everything that went on I felt as if I'd missed out on such a spiritual event. He wakes up and prays Fajr without hesitation, he always use to read Quran at night but now we can hear him from our bedroom and he read with so much love and his pronounciation is just amazing and also with this beautiful flow. He said he loved going to Ustadh Mahmud's lectures even though it was at 11pm at night he said to me "mum when brother Mahmud speaks he speaks to the heart" its so nice to see my son love Islam and not be forced into doing it. He also spent much time in the company of his wife’s father, Sheikh Husam Mubarak, and benefitted greatly from him. He served as UIC MSA president during his time at the University. He has been active with Young Muslims for over ten years, serving in roles at the local, regional, and national levels with a focus on the organization’s educational program. He currently works in the technology and finance sector in Chicago, and studies Arabic and the Islamic sciences part-time at Dar-ul Qasim Institute. His interests include bicycling, the study of the Qur’an, Islamic education, law, and history. Brother Habeeb Quadri is the principal of the MCC Full Time School in Morton Grove, Illinois. He has a B.A. degree in Teaching of History and a Masters in School Administration. In addition to his teaching and administrative experience in public and private schools, Habeeb has delivered dozens of lectures throughout North America and abroad on Islam, society, and social problems confronting Muslim youth and the community-at-large for the last fifteen years. Additionally, Habeeb maintains an active interest in education consulting. He has started his own educational consulting company called High Quality Educational Consulting in which he has partnered with IQRA International Educational Foundation as a consultant. He has currently co-authored a book entitled the War Within Our Heart: The Struggles of the Muslim Youth. He also has two other book projects in the works regarding parental advice on dealing with Muslim youth and a story book for children.

Sultan is a second generation American born and raised Muslim Chaplain of South Asian descent. He grew up in Indianapolis, IN and spent several years abroad in the Middle East. Most recently, Sultan served as the Muslim Chaplain for Trinity College and Wesleyan University in CT. Now, he has joined Princeton University full-time to serve as their first Muslim Life Coordinator. Sultan holds a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism from Indiana University. Currently, Sultan is finishing his M.A. in Islamic Studies & Christian-Muslim Relations, and Islamic Chaplaincy from the Hartford Theological Seminary. Sultan is a public lecturer on Islam, Muslim Culture, and Muslim-Western Relations in the U.S. and abroad. He is also the author of The Koran for Dummies (Wiley, 2004) and The Qur'an and Sayings of Prophet Muhammad: Selections Annotated & Explained (Skylight Paths, 2007), as well as numerous published articles on the Islamic faith and tradition. Sultan lives with his wife, Arshe Ahmed, in Cranbury, NJ. -- Mazen Mokhtar is a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS) and a member of the Board of Trustees of MAS. He gives regular lectures at Masjid (Mosque) Al-Huda in New Brunswick, NJ and the Institute of Islamic Studies in East Windsor, NJ. Mazen holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University and currently owns and runs a New Jersey based Computer Consulting business. Mazen holds regular classes in topics such as Exegesis of the Qur’an, Islamic History and activism and has a personal interest in the field of Islamic activism and youth work.

Biography of Sheikh AbdulNasir Jangda: He was born in 1979 in Ft. Worth, TX. He was raised in Arlington, TX. At the age of 10 he went to Karachi, Pakistan to memorize the Holy Quran. He excelled in his memorization and committed the entire Quran to memory within 1 year. He then returned home and continued his school education. After graduating from High School, he went back to Karachi to study the Alim Course at Jamia Binoria. He graduated from the rigorous 7 year program in 2002 at the top of his class and with numerous Ijaazaat (Licenses) in various Islamic Sciences. He currently serves as a full time Imam in the Dallas area where he teaches regular classes and seminars/workshops. He is the executive chair and founding member of Qalam Institute, a Quranic studies project in DFW. He is also the founder and chairman of Mansfield Islamic Center. His specialties include Hanafi fiqh, Tafseer, and Arabic language.
