LIVING RIGHT
Borrowing from traditional texts and conventional wisdom, “Living Right” is a forum for newcomers to Islam, young people recommitting themselves to the Deen, or anyone seeking practical ways to progress spiritually.

CULTIVATING MINDFULNESS
Relax, breathe and focus on the present. Employing techniques of mindfulness meditation, this class will nurture increased awareness and provide participants with tools to manage the stress of daily life.

PRACTICING MINDFULNESS (HALF-DAY RETREAT)
This half-day silent mindfulness meditation retreat, led by Micah Anderson, will give us an opportunity to deepen our experience of mindfulness. This 4-hour intensive will look at how mindfulness can increase understanding of our environments and ourselves. Practice will include sitting, walking, and eating. No previous experience necessary.

MEETING THE DIVINE
What is our understanding of life before conception and after death? This class will cover the text Lives of Man by Imam Al-Haddad discussing the division of human states in five stages referencing both Quran and Hadith, explaining the condition of the soul at each stage.

PLAYING DRUMS II
Join us for part two of the playing drums workshop, with further practice and instruction on the rudiments of hand drumming and basic rhythm combinations. Participants will practice on conga drums and frame drums and work on Basic Afro-Caribbean and Nasheed rhythms. No drumming experience necessary. Some drums will be on hand but bringing your own drum is recommended.
