The Muqaddima Al-Hadramiyyah of al-Imam ‘Abd-Allah Ibn ‘Abd-al-Rahman BaFadl al-Hadrami (d. 918 H) is a summation of the essentials of worship according to the Shafi’i school of Islamic jurisprudence.
Like other fiqh texts, a student will encounter the conditions, integrals, recommended measures (mustahabbaat) of the various acts of worship in Islam and what invalidates them. Although focused solely on acts of worship ('ibadat), the Muqaddimah provides the student with further rulings and scenarios extending on those encountered in previous text such as Mukhtasar al-Latif and Matn Abi Shuja'.
In this course, Shaykh Amjad Rashid will be taking students through the chapters on purification and prayer, up to the chapters of Hajj, with the goal of not only the practical implementation of the rulings but also to ensure the proper conception of the legal discussions of the jurists. This will allow student of this course to begin to move into the stage of acquiring the habits of mind a scholar of the Sacred Law should possess.
Classes will be delivered live online in Arabic and students should commit to attending all of them and participating, in order to fully benefit. External Event Url
