by Sabir Hussain

This session will help individuals intending to go for hajj to prepare for their journey, focusing on both the rituals and spiritual aspects of Hajj.

It will give an insight into key concepts and the philosophy behind hajj, whilst also looking at the different types of hajj that can be performed. In all, this session will leave you feeling better equipped for when that holiest of invitations arrives!

About the teacher:

Sabir Hussain currently works for a housing association as an Organisational Development Manager but his background is in Training and Development and he has taught at a variety of universities and colleges and managed a public sector learning and development function.

Sabir joined the Islamic Society of Britain in 2001 and held the position of Branch President for Halifax. Having experienced an amazing hajj trip led by his spiritual mentor and scholar in 2004, Sabir learnt about many aspects of hajj, including fiqh dos and don’ts. In 2010 he completed an umrah with the same scholar but this time devised a programme to educate the travelling group before the journey. He shares this with us in this ecircle session.
