The conflict in Syria has resulted in what the UN has called the world’s worst humanitarian crisis today. More than 2.4 million registered Syrian refugees are living in neighboring countries. And some 9 million people inside Syria are in need of humanitarian aid. Through the collaborative efforts of the Islamic Relief family around the world, more than 2 million people affected by the Syrian conflict have received aid, but many more need our help.

Join Islamic Relief USA and the DC-MD-VA community on March 21st for "Skate for Syria," a team fundraising event that aims to raise awareness and support for Syrian Humanitarian Aid.

And create a team fundraising page!!!

HOW IT WORKS:

CREATE YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE: Set up your personal team fundraising page here:
get-involved.irusa.org/skate4syria so that you can collect donations to help Syrians in need. Remember you don’t have to do it all by yourself. You can even work with a team of up to 5 members to raise even more donations for Syrians in need.

GET SPONSORS: Ask your neighbors, friends, family members or anyone you know to sponsor you or your team, by asking for pledges per lap or as a flat sum. For those who are not very good at skating you can even get sponsors to donate per every time you fall. Get creative and raise as much money you possibly can to help Syrians in need.

SKATE: Registration is $12 which covers admission and ice skates – any additional proceeds from your registration fee will go towards the Syrian Humanitarian Relief Fund to help Syrians in need.

COMPETE TO WIN & HELP:
The team that raises the most funds by 3/24 will qualify to win a prize. The individual who raises the most funds by 3/24 will win a prize. The team to skate the most laps on the day of the event will win a prize. The individual to skate the most laps will WIN a prize.

You can also just come out to skate for fun.
