Random Acts of Kindness Week—coming up Feb. 9-25—is dedicated to celebrating the little things we do for others to make the world a better place.

For RAK week, we are looking out for new immigrants, including refugees, as they adjust to their new life in the United States.

Please join us by donating essential housing items they need. If you can help, drop off some of the items listed below at our office at 3655 Wheeler Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304.

The items will be sent to International Rescue Committee in Silver Spring, MD, so the new immigrant families can use them instead of purchasing the items with their limited funds. New items only, please. We’ll also need help sorting the supplies at the office.

Needed supplies:

Metrocards
Umbrellas
Diapers
Infant clothing
Baby bottles
Warm clothing (jackets)
Professional clothing
Detergent
Toiletries and cleaning supplies
School supplies
Towels

Drop Off days: The week of Feb. 9 to Feb. 25, 2015, including weekends.

For those participating outside of the area: Please share your Random Acts of Kindness acts with us, so we can post them on social medial to encourage others. Please email short videos or photos with captions to #RAKWeek2015
