The conflict in Syria has resulted in what the UN has called the world’s worst humanitarian crisis today. More than 2.4 million registered Syrian refugees are living in neighboring countries. And some 9 million people inside Syria are in need of humanitarian aid.

March 15, 2014 marks the third anniversary of the #Syria crisis, three years of failure by the world to end the appalling suffering. A coalition of 100 international humanitarian organizations across thirty countries worldwide are working to create a movement to change the narrative on #Syria and provide a global message of hope for Syrians. Major cities are too participating. World famous graffiti artist, Banksy, art of a child holding a red balloon will be lit up on iconic buildings including the Eiffel Tower, U.S. Supreme Court, and other locations, and coordinated vigils will be held in DC, Paris, at Za’atari Camp, Red Square in Moscow, Trafalgar Square, and other locations.

Islamic Relief USA is too standing in solidarity with NGOs around the world and we are asking you to do the same. We request you to participate in a Vigil on March 13 in front of The Capitol Reflecting Pool to say in one voice that we will not give up on the people of Syria.

If you can't make it, you still can help! We’re asking people in every country to send a bright message of hope to the people of Syria: to take part online and in person, to let our leaders know that we will not give up on the people of Syria. We will show every child, woman, and man struggling to survive through this conflict that we are with them, that we are #WithSyria. Please use the hashtag #WithSyria in all your messages.
