In this webinar, sister Alima Ashfaq will discuss about men and women within Islamic history, and the Qur'an who have faced troubling times, and how their faith strengthened them, and helped them remain firm, whilst showing courage and mercy to those who oppress them. She will discuss several verses and derive lessons from them.

We will focus on women and men not allowing others to judge their with, but rather be beacons of light for their communities through their actions.

Sr. Alima Ashfaq

Sister Alima is the founder and director of I am Alima, and Women Of Ilm and aims to assist Muslim women in coming to Allah subḥānahu wa ta’āla, through Islamic knowledge.

Sister Alima currently undertaking studies in Islamic Studies, sister Alima has not quenched her thirst for knowledge. She has studied under various scholars and students of knowledge in order to gain an extra insight into her religion and to better herself in her role as an I am Alima instructor. Her vision in life is to revive Islamic Scholarship among Muslim women in the West including helping to portray the correct image of Islam and its beliefs on women.She is currently undertaking an 'ijazah in the science of tajweed, due to her passion with the Qur'an.

She has experience within various organisations and has held a number of leadership positions. Sister Alima has worked with several organisations, and lectured in all the main Universities in the UK, ranging from the University of Birmingham, to Sheffield University.

She also takes a keen interest in personal development and regularly attends seminars in hope of improving herself.

Furthermore, Alima has authored Du’as of a Superstars, Love Unveiled and Falling in Love. Also, herself and I am Alima compiled and edited Threads of Hope in conjunction with Sh. Muhammad Alshareef.

She has presented a weekly show on Unity FM and is a keen blogger with posts on Muslim Matters, Productive Muslim, I am Alima’s own blog and her personal blog.

She resides in Sheffield, UK, and currently spends her time between her husband and baby, Islamic studies and delivering lectures and courses around the UK, and online. External Event Url
